We stayed at Agriturismo Ca Del Lago at Lake Como at the end of April 2009.  At first, we were a little put-off by how far up the lake it was.  Since it was our 1st stop in Italy & we had just got off the plane, we were wiped out.  I had several email communications with the owner, Gianluigi, so I felt like I already knew him.  He greeted us, showed us our room, & we were off & running from there. 

The place is so beautiful. It’s an old farmhouse, owned by his grandfather since way back when.  There’s a beautiful swimming pool with very comfortable chaise lounges.  Our room was absolutely perfect!  Very clean, a wonderful balcony with chairs & table, small refrigerator, & TV.  The breakfast they served was perfect.  Home-made jams, fresh honey, great breads, cheese, tarts, sliced meats, fruits, cereals, eggs, & coffee - the best!  The restaurant offers great food at amazingly affordable prices. 

Gianluigi & his family are just soooooo nice.  No matter how busy they were, they never made you feel uncomfortable if you asked a question.  They’re located only a 10 minute walk from Lake Como, a 15 minute walk from a very cool town called Gravedona, & a short hike into towns that made you feel like you were walking back in time a few hundred years ago.  Amazing!  Would we go there again?  Absolutely?  Would we spend more time at the Agriturismo Ca Del Lago & less trying to see the sights?  You bet!  We will definitely be back!
